St Peter's Premier Netball Dominate St Paul's

Our Premier Netball Team continued their good form last night winning the first of their Secondary School Pre-tournament week netball competition game against St Paul's.

Court defence by the whole team created numerous turnovers and with the outstanding defence circle pairing from Katie Te Ao and Charlisse Leger-Walker, the St Paul's shooters struggled to find their rhythm. In the attack end, Atlanta Bruce and Sade Kaipara-Morrison were accurate under the post and from midway shooting 88% and 85% for the 60-31 goal win. Superb attacking from Waiata Jennings and Annalies Kalma ensured the ball was delivered to the shooters.

The team has stepped up their intensity in training and game preparation since the start of the term as they head into the business end of the season.

“Expectations to tick all the boxes; do their recovery sessions, manage their workloads, nutrition and sleep have been focus points for the term," said coach Ange Russek. "This team has some exceptional talent as individuals and some very good team structures to implement, but these things are only useful if they are managing all the little things off the court. These girls recognize that and are embracing the challenges ahead with maturity and excitement," she said.
