Toowoomba Grammar visit for cricket games

We recently had students from Toowoomba Grammar in Australia play a T20 cricket game with our 1st XI and Development XI teams.

The one-off fixture was organised by Student Horizons, a company that arranges travel for school groups.

Cricket coach Pat Hounsell said it was a great social experience for our players.

"The boys get to experience other cricketers from a different culture who may have different methods and ways of playing. This gives them ideas of how they can improve their game by adopting some of those things they see the opposition doing successfully," he said.

"It also validates their training methods and ways of playing if they can have success against them."

St Peter’s on the game after being 19/3 from 8 overs, meaning we needed to score at 10 per over from that point on.

They managed to do so with Tiger Houston scoring a superb 89 from 51 balls and Ollie Louden 23 from 23 balls combining in an unbroken partnership of 120.

The bowling of some of the debutants and less experienced members, including Sam Powles and Harrison Shaw, was fantastic.

Brothers Ollie and Tom Louden bowled 8 overs between them for 41 runs.
